Abstract

The article provides a theoretical analysis of the transformation of scientific concepts of economic risks related to the corporate integration of joint-stock companies in the context of globalization. The purpose of the study is to systematize the evolution of scientific approaches to the interpretation of economic risks arising in integration processes, as well as to identify key changes in understanding their nature, structure, and role in ensuring the stability of joint-stock companies in a globalized economic environment. Special emphasis is placed on the need to develop a coherent theoretical framework for the further analysis of risks associated with corporate integration.

The study applies methods of theoretical analysis, generalization, comparison, and systematization of academic sources. Classical and contemporary theories of risk, institutional and agency approaches, as well as concepts of corporate governance explaining the specificity of economic risks in the corporate integration of joint-stock companies are examined. The research reveals a shift in scientific focus from a predominantly financial interpretation of risk to a comprehensive understanding that incorporates institutional, managerial, market, and transnational dimensions of integration processes in the global economy.

The findings demonstrate that the transformation of scientific concepts of economic risks in corporate integration reflects the increasing complexity of corporate structures and interactions of joint-stock companies in the global environment. Contemporary theoretical approaches enable a more adequate identification of risks related to corporate control, agency conflicts, and the loss of economic efficiency of integration decisions. Further research should focus on the development of methodological tools for assessing economic risks of corporate integration of joint-stock companies, taking into account the characteristics of global markets and the institutional environment.
