Trends and Dynamics of Corporate Development of Agricultural Enterprises under War Risks and Structural Transformations

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the trends and dynamics of corporate development of agro-industrial enterprises in Ukraine under war risks, structural instability and economic transformation. Corporate development is interpreted as a mechanism for adapting agricultural enterprises to crisis challenges and ensuring economic resilience, flexibility, efficiency and competitiveness. The emphasis is placed on the role of corporate structures in preserving the production potential of the agricultural sector and creating prerequisites for recovery.

The article presents a systematic analysis of demographic, structural, economic and institutional factors that shape the development trajectory of agro-industrial enterprises. A decline in the share of the rural population has been identified; it limits the labor potential of the sector and strengthens the need for automation, concentration and integration of agricultural production. Changes in the entrepreneurial environment are examined: the growing role of large enterprises, the narrowing of the medium-sized segment and the decline in small and micro-enterprises, which indicate structural polarization of the agricultural sector. The analysis of production, employment, labor productivity and financial results established the cyclical development of the sector and the higher adaptability of integrated structures to crisis impacts.

It is concluded that under the war economy, corporate development of agro-industrial enterprises acquires a concentration-adaptive character and acts as a tool for survival, stabilization and recovery of the agricultural sector. The key risk factors of corporate development are identified, among which demographic, institutional, production, logistical and financial threats dominate. Further research should focus on improving methods for assessing corporate development, developing risk-oriented management models and strengthening state support mechanisms for agricultural enterprises.
